The Mandatory Student Activity Fee

Where does your $100 go?

The SUNY Geneseo Student Association is the only campus organization of which every undergraduate student is a member. Included in student tuition is a mandatory student activity fee of $100 each semester that is combined with programming funds and allocated to support student organizations, services, and programs.

The student activity fee is voted on every two years on whether it should be mandatory or voluntary. This fee funds over 40 clubs, programs, and services on campus.


Referendum Voting will take place on Monday, March 9 at 12:01am and continue through Wednesday, March 11 at 11:59pm. All are urged to vote to keep your Student Activity Fees MANDATORY, as well as support a $5 a semester increase. Campus Wide Elections will be held at the same time.

  • Emails will go to your official Geneseo email account on Monday. They should not go to a spam folder, but if you did not receive one, check the folder.
  • You will receive a unique "token" to log in and vote... one for Referendum/Campus Wide Elections and one for Class Officers.
  • The system will generate a reminder if you did not vote.
